Company History

Serwa Bulldozing, a family owned and operated company,  has been serving Kelowna and its surrounding areas since 1948. Founded by Jack Serwa, the company is now operated by his grandson, Brad Serwa, and his wife, Terri Serwa.

Essentially a road builder in the early days, the company has expanded to offer virtually all types of environmental, ecological and economic heavy equipment needs, including land clearing, site servicing, underground, subdivision and landscape preparation.

Having been involved with Big White Ski Resort since its inception, Serwa Bulldozing built the original road to the resort which is still in existence today, 50 years later. It also cleared all the first runs and continues yearly summer grooming upgrades. Over time, other notable accomplishments at the Resort include the Rhonda Lake Dam, the Sewer Lagoons, Tube Town, the Terrain Park, the driving range and all the parking lots which have grown to incorporate resort and luxury residential developments.

We build walls; rock walls and block walls. We’ve moved lifts. We have two gravel pit in the vicinity for all your material needs and we also recycle material from the job site with a portable rock crusher. Not only does this save the developer money, it is also environmentally prudent. As well, we are the prime electrical contractor for Fortis at the Resort doing all their electrical upgrades as well as Omega Communications. We sit on the Official Community Planning Board and the Community Residents Association and volunteer extensively in the alpine ski racing community.

Big White Ski Resort is built on a mountain of granite. It is not easy work and it is not for the light-hearted. Serwa Bulldozing has always stepped up to the challenge. While other excavation companies might have come and gone, Serwa Bulldozing continues to offer everything needed to get the job done right.

All the while we have continued our work in the Kelowna area, installing radio towers, fighting forest fires, excavating house sites, making “Ogo-grow”, clearing land, preparing orchards and vineyards and helping to build Kelowna Mountain to name just a few of our projects.

We are proud to attest to having been directly involved in more than 90 percent of the excavation and site servicing that has occurred at Big White in both residential and commercial applications. We work closely with developers and Big White Ski Resort to offer a full package from land clearing, backfilling, site servicing, curbs and gutters to paving preparation, gravel needs and landscaping.
